Our 30-Day Onboarding: The Actual Checklist We Run
Most providers say “seamless onboarding”. We publish our runbook. Every Django takeover goes through three phases — and you get the completed checklist as a report.
- Phase 1 — Access & Knowledge Transfer: credentials move through an encrypted vault (never chat or email), we record a walkthrough with your current maintainer, capture the known-issues list and every undocumented manual step, map your settings and deploy process, and don't call Phase 1 done until your application runs on our machines.
- Phase 2 — Observability: error and performance monitoring (Sentry) with release tracking, uptime checks on a real health endpoint, dependency scanning, log aggregation and dead-man's-switch monitoring for scheduled tasks. Week one ends with a fired-and-confirmed test alert and a tested backup restore. If you have no staging environment, flagging that is our first recommendation — not a surprise later.
- Phase 3 — Django Hardening Pass: we run Django's own deployment checks and ours — production settings verified, hosts restricted, secrets out of the repository, HTTPS enforced, secure session and CSRF cookies, HSTS enabled, migration state matched to the deployed schema, static and media serving verified, and the dependency baseline scanned and triaged.
